World Suicide Prevention Day 2019

last modified Sep 11, 2019 10:09 AM
Every year organisations and communities come together to raise awareness of how we can create a world where fewer people die by suicide. Would you ask?

The Staff Counselling Centre is marking World Suicide Prevention Day on Tuesday 10th September by raising awareness of suicide prevention and encouraging you to intervene.

We have also signed up to the STOP Suicide Pledge

We pledge that we will:

  • promote the STOP Suicide message throughout our organisation;

  • encourage staff to sign up to the personal STOP Suicide Pledge;

  • encourage staff to be open and honest when life gets difficult;

  • encourage staff to reach out to others if they are worried about them.

Please read our new Reflections article:

A Conversation could save a life – that’s well worth talking about

and think about what you can do and have a look at the training on Zero Suicide Alliance website

During World Suicide Prevention Day the Staff Counselling Centre will have stalls located in the foyer at Greenwich House and the Combination Room of Old Schools for staff to come along for more information about the campaign.

There will be a member of our counselling team at the stalls during the following times:

Greenwich House: 12pm-1pm

Old Schools: 1pm-2pm

If you are affected in any way by issues around suicide, please self-refer to the Staff Counselling Centre by completing our Pre-Counselling form
